I Found It - Axel's Christmas!
I FOUND IT I FOUND IT!
My parents, Mom really, had this wacky old vinyl of Axel's Night Before Christmas. Now, Axel was a silly Scandoohovian character played by Clellan Card from the early radio and TV years, the old WCCO stuff.
Well, I found out my mom sadly sold that album, and thus I have been on a quest to find them. I still am looking for the actual vinyl pressing, but this day any digital version is fine by me. Well, last year I found the script to Axel's Night Before Christmas. I donning my memory cap created my own version of the radio play, including silly sound effects and voices. I then uploaded it to youtube.
Well, today, as I was surfing the web, I found that somebody has actually posted the 1938 Axel's Night Before Christmas on Youtube! It's wonderful to hear that silly show again!
So, here it is, my early pre-season gift to you.
Clellan Card as Axel, performing Axel's Night Before Christmas.
Well, what do you think, pretty great huh!
Now, for comparisons sake, here is my version. Please consider that I had the script, but I hadn't heard the true version in 20 plus years.
Happy Holidays everybody!

And following our tradition, we capture yet one more picture with a SeaFair Pirate!

Now this year is special to me! The Man in Red, the Captain Kidd of the SeaFair Pirates for 2012 is a friend of mine, Lance, often know by his pirate name, Clapeye.
So, not only did we get a picture with a pirate but with a CAPTAIN no less!

A Two Way Thank You!
So you may have seen my post about my Dollar Shave Club experience .
Well, the good folks at the DSC thought what I did was pretty cool, so they sent me a couple of neat things. They sent my wife the the 4x blade (the lovers blade) and she really likes it for her legs!
They then sent me a wicked comfortable tee shirt. Here's what I did with that.
