So then I saw the opossum.
You're about to learn a few things about our house that you may not have know. For starters, our bedroom is not in the house.
Not that we are rich and have a fancy Queen Anne house, more like the main house is tiny. In the backyard there is an outbuilding. Thats a fancy term for a nice shed. Heated, insulated, and the largest open floor plan room in the "house". A few years back we moved the bedroom out there. It was a good move. More space for everybody since we all sleep in the same room. Us in our bed, the boys in their bunk bed, the soon to be arriving baby in it's crib. There is a cat door that allows our cat, Fezziwig in and out and the cat also has a food dish in the bedroom as well. So that's the set up.
Last night, after doing some blogging work and house work I was heading to bed late. The boys were sound asleep as I crept into the bedroom, using my ipod touch as a flashlight. I got to the bed, and shined the light on the bed looking to see if I was about to lay on the cat. Is when I saw it.
Opossum.

Opossum.
Course, it wasn't hanging out on a tree like this one. Oh no. It was sitting on my bed. Looking at me. I would like to say I was brave and dealt swift with the beast right then. But I wasn't. I ran out of the room.
I told Caroline of the issue and she said she had about 5 more minutes to finish and turn her homework. I grabbed a broom and a trash can lid and tried to sneak back into the bed room. Caroline arrived and I told her where the little bugger was. Under the dresser, hiding.
So with Mama with flashlight, broom and I with a metal bar on the bed. We started to coach the furry fella out. With a bolt, it shot out and ran under the crib and then took off out of the bedroom door.
Oh yeah, we had the lights on, I was banging on the floor with a metal pipe, Caroline and I had a..um.."discussion" over my tactics that may have not be so well thought out. The boys slept though. Totally slept.
So, we clean up, took the bedding off. Oh yeah, did I mention that the dirty thing peed on my pillow. Not the bed, but my pillow. Just mine. No big deal though.
Changed the bedding and then I tried to go bed. Caroline showed up and little later and we both tried to fall asleep. About 2am, Caroline "awoke" ( I am not sure she was asleep yet, I was half and half) to the sound of the cat eating its cat food. But she decided to check anyways. Night light turns on, she rolls over and says "God Damnit." I look up and there is the gray beast again. Nomming on cat food. I move, it bolts out the door.
So now we find the cover to the cat door and lock that out. But we're both a bit wired and we stayed up to watch Bones. So now we going to bed about 3:30am and today I am dragging. I have named the opossum Creepy. I told the story to the boys who thought it was funny and Ryan was concerned if the opossum was still hungry, much like he would be concerned about such things.
I would like to note here, that our cat, Fezz is a lazy cat. We don't ask much of him, but I feel that he should be on patrol for things getting into the bedroom and eating his food. This will reflect badly on his next review.
And that is the "so there was an opossum in our bed" story.

A Day At Golden Gardens
It's finals week next week for Caroline so she wanted me out of the house with the boys so she could study. It was a great day to take them to Golden Gardens Park. It's a beach front park, well beach as in Puget Sound Beach, so different from the "real" coastline. Lots of play spaces, fun sand water times and even ice cream!
Enjoy the pics.
First its the view of the Sound:

Graduation Party for Eric! June 9th 5:30pm
Hello People!
I would like to invite you over to my house to celebrate with me on my graduation from
Shoreline Community College.
The Details
When: Sunday June 9th at 5:30pm
Where: My house
Why: I graduated from community college
I decided that I want to celebrate my graduation by inviting a few friends and family over, having a few drinks, maybe eating something, and playing some music.
What I ask of you! Bring something tasty to share, food-drink-even both!
Also, hoping to do this outside, you might want to bring a lawn chair if you have one.
Here's some random pictures of me. I learned how to make webpages like this in college.
No, not really.

The Boys and The Bones - A story by Ryan
Ryan has been on a roll writing creative stories and is having a good time doing it. His skills have also been increasing exponentially and we are most impressed. Recently Ryan wrote and illustrated a story and he read it on camera. I did some editing and we turned it into this cool little movie.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
